Hunters fight at range, use traps and other tools to control encounters, and adventure with a beast companion. The class appeals to players who like to manage distance, choose when to engage, and build a relationship with a pet as they explore Azeroth.
Hunter playstyle
Hunters bring a distinct mix of ranged weapon attacks, pet management, and field utility. In groups, their contribution is broader than damage alone: controlling a dangerous enemy or choosing the right moment for area attacks can matter in Forever’s tactical combat.
What is confirmed for Forever?
Blizzard’s Deep Dive says combat should keep the deliberate pace and class identity associated with Classic. It does not publish a Hunter-specific ability or finalized talent breakdown in the recap. The broader talent direction includes selected class buffs becoming baseline, a level-16 talent milestone, and the goal of making all 27 trees viable group options. Treat exact builds, pet rankings, and damage claims as unverified until the current game can be tested.
New race options
Human Hunter is one of six newly confirmed combinations. Skyborne characters of either faction can also choose Hunter. See our Human guide, Skyborne guide, and race and class compatibility guide for details.
