Priests support groups through healing and protection, while Shadow magic offers a damage-focused path. Their toolkit makes them a natural choice for players who enjoy helping allies survive while retaining a different way to contribute when healing is not the role they want to play.
Priest playstyle
Priests are defined by the choice between restorative holy magic and offensive Shadow abilities. In Forever, that broad identity sits within Blizzard’s stated goal of deliberate combat, meaningful class strengths, and room for different talent trees to find a place in groups.
Gnome Priest: a confirmed combination
Blizzard has confirmed Gnome Priest as one of six new race-and-class combinations. The announcement establishes the option, not the best specialization, build, or group ranking. Forever’s race redesign also follows a two-active and two-passive ability framework, but Blizzard’s Deep Dive has not published the final Gnome ability list.
The overall talent direction includes selected class buffs becoming baseline, a level-16 talent milestone, and an aim for all 27 talent trees to be viable group options. Exact Priest talents, numerical tuning, and rotations should be treated as provisional until confirmed by Blizzard or tested in game.
