Darkspear Islands is a new 15-versus-15 battleground set among islands off Kalimdor’s coast, Blizzard confirmed in its official What’s Next recap. The panel described strategic control points, with teams capturing and defending objectives in an Arathi Basin-style format.
Classic battlegrounds return too
Lead Software Engineer Nora Mills also said classic battlegrounds will return in WoW Forever. Darkspear Islands adds a new location to that PvP lineup, placing its objective-based fighting on a group of islands off Kalimdor. The panel presentation showed red cliffs, palm trees, connecting bridges, an airship, and a coastal settlement with docks.
