Get clear answers to the most common World of Warcraft: Forever questions, from launch access and the beta to races, regions, progression, and what is still changing. This FAQ is updated as Blizzard publishes new details. For claims that are confirmed, reported, or still uncertain, see our Evidence Policy.
What is World of Warcraft: Forever?
Blizzard describes WoW Forever as a new, permanent home alongside modern WoW and WoW Classic. It returns players to the original continents for a level 1–60 journey, while adding new stories, quests, regions, dungeons, raids, and systems. Blizzard says the game is not a seasonal mode or a new version of Classic; it is intended to keep expanding over time. Read the official overview and our WoW Forever hub.
When does WoW Forever launch?
Blizzard currently lists the global launch for November 4, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. Pacific Time. The beta began September 17 and is currently scheduled to run through October 21. Dates and regional display times can change, so check Blizzard’s current announcement and our WoW Forever roadmap before making plans.
How do I get access, and do I need to buy an edition?
Blizzard says WoW Forever access at launch is included with an active World of Warcraft subscription or game time. Optional upgrade editions add extras. The Skyborne Epic Pack or Warcraft Forever Collection includes beta access; Blizzard has also described opt-in opportunities for the beta. Pack contents, eligibility, and purchase terms are controlled by Blizzard, so verify the current official access and editions details before buying.
What regions are in WoW Forever?
The adventure returns to Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms, with new areas woven into the familiar world. Blizzard has announced Mount Hyjal, Shen’dralas, the Riverglades, and Zephras Isle. Zephras Isle is the level 1–12 starting experience for the new Skyborne race. See the regions overview for the differences and links to each guide.
Who are the Skyborne, and which classes can they play?
Skyborne are a new playable race whose starting story begins on Zephras Isle. At character creation, a Skyborne chooses Horde or Alliance. Horde-aligned Windshapers can play Druid, Hunter, Rogue, Shaman, or Warrior; Alliance-aligned High Order Skyborne can play Druid, Hunter, Mage, Rogue, or Warrior. The faction choice determines access to Shaman or Mage. Check our Skyborne guide, races hub, and classes hub for the current roster.
How do talents and the Legacy system work?
Character talent trees and the account-wide Legacy progression are separate systems. Blizzard’s announced talent-tree design uses milestone choices based on points invested in an individual class tree; Legacy progression is account-wide and awards Legacy Points for challenges, with character-specific perks and cosmetic rewards. The exact values and unlocks should be checked against current beta information. Start with our talents guide and Legacy system guide.
What new dungeons, raids, and PvP are planned?
Blizzard has announced new and reimagined group content across Azeroth, including the Barrow Deeps and Hyjal Summit, and a new 15-versus-15 Darkspear Islands battleground. Exact schedules, encounter details, rewards, and rules can change during development. Browse our dungeon directory, raid guides, and PvP hub for what has been shared so far.
Can beta information change before launch?
Yes. Beta features, balance, dates, and content are subject to testing and revision. We label live testing observations separately from official announcements and revisit pages when stronger evidence appears. If you spot a correction or have a source, please contact Azeroth Plus. For the sourcing standards we use, read the Evidence Policy.
